Terms and Conditions

Costs & Validity

The course costs are net costs and are to be paid within 10 days after receiving the course confirmation. Included in the cost are all course materials,  recipes, examination fees, accident insurance up to CHF 4 million, glass breakage, supervision by a professional trainer, spirits, plenty of practical experience, VAT, possible job placement etc.

The course costs are valid as long as the particular courses are advertised.


Diploma & Examination

A final examination takes place on the last course day of the Intensive Bar Course. Successful candidates receive an Academy diploma.

The final examination consists of 3 parts: written, practical and oral. If performance in one or more parts is unsatisfactory, these parts or perhaps the entire course may be repeated at a later time at no additional cost.


Deferment & Cancellation

Course deferments are accepted at no cost up to 14 days at the latest before the start of the course; for later deferments an administrative fee of 10% will be charged.

In case of illness, a medical certificate is required; the administrative fee is not charged.

Course cancellations may be made by registered letter only, at least 14 days before the start of the course; 90% of the cost will be returned. In case of cancellation 0 to 14 days before the start of the course the full cost will be charged.

Alcohol, Minority

During the course it is possible to sample various mixed drinks. This is absolutely at one's own discretion. The Thörig Bartenders Academy takes no responsibility for accidents, illness or any other negative outcome resulting from alcohol consumption.

Participants under 18 years of age or those with a legal guardian must present the written permission of their guardian to take part in the course.


Number of participants and language

The number of participants in extra-occupational courses is limited to nine people. If fewer than four people register for a course, the Thörig Bartenders Academy has the right to cancel the course. The Academy cannot be held responsible for any resulting difficulty/costs.

The courses are taught in Swiss German or High German; if desired the course is taught in English at no extra cost.
